Arthur I. Mello, age 89 of Somerset, passed away in Fall River March 4, 2013. He was the husband of the late Etiennette E.(Bouchard) Mello, who passed away in Fall River on March 3, 2013, and the son of the late Manuel I. And Maria (Pimental) Mello. Prior to retiring, Mr. Mello worked as a Carpenter for Kelly & Picerne and was the owner of Mello Contracting. He was a parishioner of St. Louis De France Church, and a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, serving in the Battle of the Bulge and D-Day
Arthur was the father of Susan E. Mello (husband Richard) of Fall River, the late Arthur Mello Jr. and Elaine Mello; 2 grandsons: Jeremy R. Caron (wife Sarah) of Canton, MA and Ross J. Caron of Fall River; several nieces & nephews. He was the last of 17 brothers & sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Arthur & Etiennette will take place in St. Louis De France Church, Buffington St., Swansea on SATURDAY at 11:00 A.M. Cremation and Burial will be private.
