Obituary

Shirley M. (Anderson) McInerny, 89, of Franklin died March 4 in her home. She was the wife of Edward S. McInerny with whom she celebrated 65 years of marriage.
Shirley was born in Worcester on May 17, 1923, the daughter of the late Leonard and Frances (Killerby) Anderson. She was a graduate of the David Hale Fanning Trade School for Girls in Worcester. A talented cook, she worked in many Worcester establishments and restaurants. She raised her family in Auburn, retired to Falmouth and moved to Franklin 20 years ago to make her home near her daughter.
She and her husband spent many winters on the Gulf of Mexico in Englewood, Florida.
Shirley loved being a homemaker, and cooking for her family and friends was a great delight to her.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Judith Anne Kane and her husband Dennis of Auburn, Donna Estey and her husband Ken of Franklin, and David McInerny of Franklin.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Theresa Nordborg, Deborah Whitton, Nancy Hassett, Timothy Kane and Nicole Estey.
She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to express gratitude to Dr. Gary Coles, her primary care physician and the Milford V.N.A. for their dedicated care.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Horace Mann Educational Associates (HMEA), 8 Forge Park, Franklin, MA 02038.
