Obituary

Edward P. Devnew, Sr., age 90, of Kingston, formerly of Duxbury, died on Friday, March 1, 2013, at his home.

Born in Granby, CT, he was the son of the late Philip E. & Olive (Allshouse) Devnew. Edward was a veteran in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving as a Sergeant in Company C, 801st Engineer Aviation Battalion. He was a member of the Duxbury Rotary Club, Duxbury Yacht Club, Boston Printing House Craftsmen as well as a member of the Duxbury Legion Post for 50 years. Edward's passions included his family, music and entertaining with his guitar, as well as his love for for the game of golf.

He was the beloved husband of the late Elaine (Starr) Devnew; devoted father of Edward P. Devnew, Jr. & his wife Edie of Duxbury and John S. Devnew & his wife Barbara of Norfolk, VA; loving grandfather of Austin, Tyler, Abigail, Ned, Alex, Max and great-grandfather of Jackson and dear brother of the late Pauline Catlett, Franklin Devnew and Vivian Harvey.

A memorial funeral Mass will be held at the Holy Family Church, 601 Tremont Street, Duxbury, on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at 11:30 AM.

Interment services will be private.
