Obituary

LEICESTER: William P. McGrail, 78, of Stafford Street in the Rochdale section of Leicester Died Sunday, March 3 in St. Vincent Hospital after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 54 years, Claire R. (Beaudreau) McGrail, five sons John McGrail, III of Leicester, William McGrail, Jr. and his wife Mary Kay of Worcester, Dennis McGrail and his wife Jennifer of Leicester, Brian McGrail of Worcester and Brendan McGrail and his fiancé Rebecca of N.Y, New York, two daughters Kathlene McGrail and her husband Howard of Lexington and Christine McGrail and her husband Alan of Leicester, 14 grandchildren Max, Charlotte, Annalise, Erin, Jackson, Matthew, Timothy, Jacob, Sean, Patrick, Jane, Atticus, Amelia & Owen and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a brother Jack McGrail and two sisters Jane Kelly and Nancy Ware.

Mr. McGrail was born in Worcester, son of John J. and Sadie (Callahan) McGrail. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 29 years as a letter carrier in Worcester before retiring in 1984. He also worked for many years at Coopers Hilltop Farm. He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the United States Army. He was a member of St. Aloysius- St. Jude Church. He was an avid reader. He enjoyed spending his time with his children and grandchildren.

A Memorial service will be held Thursday, March 7 at 11:00 AM in St. Aloysius- St. Jude Church, 489 Pleasant Street, Leicester. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are Wednesday, March 6 from 5:00-7:00 PM in MORIN-MORRISON FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester.
