Obituary

Gerald W. Gitlitz, 74, of Derry, NH died Tuesday July 20, 2004 in the Parkland Medical Center, Derry. Mr. Gitlitz was born in NYC, NY on August 3, 1929 a son of the late Morris and Martha (Cohn) Gitlitz. He had resided in Derry for the past 37 years, formerly living in New Haven, CT. Mr. Gitlitz was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He retired in 2002 from Hutter Construction in Jaffrey, NH. He had been active in local scouting and had served as past Scout Master with Boy Scout Troop 141 in Derry. He was an avid bowler, having belonged to several bowling leagues in New Hampshire and Connecticutt.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Carole (Samson) Gitlitz of Derry, two sons, Wayne Gitlitz and his companion Linda Dicey of Derry, Kenneth Gitlitz of Concord, NH, one daughter, Karen Marriott and her husband James of Boise, Idaho, three grandchildren, Rachael Gitlitz of Manchester, Jesse and Anna Marriott both of Boise, Idaho, also several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday July 24th from 6 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Cremation will follow.
