Obituary

Milton A. “Buzzy” Barton, 93, of Westport died Sunday, March 3, 2013 at the Kindred Transitional Care & Rehab-Highlander in Fall River. He was the husband of Beatrice “Betty” (Oliveira) Barton, they were married for 70 years.
Born in Fall River, son of the late James and Edith (Wilkinson) Barton, he was a lifelong resident of Westport and a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a truck driver for J.J. Taylor Co. in Dartmouth, formerly known as Sterling Beverage Co. He was a life member of the Fox and Coon Club of Dartmouth, V.F.W. Ouellette Post 8502 of Westport and the Westport Fishermen’s Association. Mr. Barton was an avid hunter and fisherman and a communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport.
Survivors along with his wife include his 2 daughters: Edythe B. Sylvia and Betty Ann Carvalho, both of Westport; 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late James Barton, Jr.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 9:30 A.M. from the Potter Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport at 10:30 A.M.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6-8 P.M.
Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101.
