Hampstead, NH - Deanna E. Carney, formerly a long time resident of North Andover, MA passed away on Saturday, March 2 after a courageous battle against Progressive Supranuclear Palsy and Esophageal cancer.
Deanna was born in Lawrence, MA on September 10, 1938 to D'Arcy A. Dowell and Beatrice L. Dowell. She grew up in Lawrence, MA and graduated from Lawrence High School in 1955. She married William J. Carney on February 16, 1958 in a snowstorm and soon devoted much of her time to raising her family of four boys. She became a
Licensed Practical Nurse in 1972 and worked for Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA and also for Marie A. Drouin MD OB/Gyn in Methuen, MA. Deanna enjoyed family and friends, dancing, travel, and riding roller coasters. She also loved to swim and became Lifesaving and Water Safety certified at the Lawrence YWCA.
Deanna was the widow of the late William J. Carney who passed away in 1991. She leaves behind a brother D'Arcy and his wife Gloria of Melbourne, FL; four sons; William D. Carney of Leominster, MA; Thomas J. Carney and his wife Leigh of Portland, ME; Shawn M. Carney and his wife Stephanie of Hampstead, NH; Kevin J. Carney and his wife Sally of Methuen, MA; a very close and dear friend Leo Francoeur of Hudson, NH; and several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Deanna was a very loving and caring person who always put her families needs before her own. She will be sadly missed by all.

Andover, MA. Her funeral Mass immediately following at 11:30AM at St. Michael's Church in North Andover, MA and burial at St. Mary - Immaculate Conception Cemetery
in Lawrence, MA.
