Obituary

David F. Belcher, 78, of Whitman died Friday March 1st the Colony House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Abington after a period of failing Health. He was the beloved husband of Carol (Hartwell) Belcher.

David was born in Brockton, son of the Earle and Dorothy (Peterson) Belcher.

He has been a lifelong resident of Whitman, a graduate of Whitman High School and Massasoit Community College.

David was employed at Halliday Lithograph for 30 years and retired from Quebcor Corp after 9 years.

He loved playing golf, reading, bowling, gardening and enjoyed taking trips.

David was also a member of the Puritan Lodge in East Bridgewater for 45 years and the Massachusetts Grand Lodge of Masons in Boston.

In addition to his wife Carol he is survived by his children, Ronald Belcher of Whitman, Susan Curry and her husband Peter of Brockton, Nancy Lawson of Virginia, his brother Earle Belcher, Jr, of Illinois, his sister Elisabeth Polland of Maine; also 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Ray Belcher.

His services will be held on Monday March 4th at 7:00PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St. (Rte 58 at the Rotary) Whitman. Visiting hours will be 2 hours prior to his service from 5:00-7:00PM.A Masonic service will be held at 6:30PM. Donations may be made in his name to the National Parkinson’s Foundation, P.O.
