Obituary

Lawrence — JOSEPH F. DUGAN , JR. - 59, A resident of Lawrence, passed away suddenly at his home on February 24, 2013.
“Joe”, son of the late Joseph F. Dugan and Florence “Sisty” (Watson) Dugan, was born in Lawrence and lived there his entire life. He was a graduate of the class of 1971 at Lawrence High School, where he was on the football team. That year, he received the team’s “Unsung Hero” award, which is presented to a team member in recognition of his loyalty, dedication and persistence.
Mr. Dugan worked for the United States Postal Service until his retirement in January of this year.
He was very active in the community through his membership in the Rocky Club of Lawrence and the Lawrence Benevolent and Protective order of Elks. His presence at the “Rocky Club” over the last twenty years was most notable, as he was on their Board of Directors and the Vice President of that organization at the time of his death.
“Dugie”, as he was affectionately known as by his colleagues, enjoyed summers at Salisbury Beach, his trips to the Caribbean and cruises on ocean liners.
Mr. Dugan is survived by several aunts, cousins, many friends and his cocker spaniel, Rocky.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 4, 2013 at 11:00AM at the funeral home. A burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.
