Tammy Lynn Smith, age 22, of 13 Hillcrest Ave, Ledyard, died Tuesday in Norwich from injuries received in an automobile accident.
Tammy was born in new London on July 12, 1982 the daughter of Sheila Hemme (Smith) and Jeff Hemme of Ledyard. Known as an avid animal lover, One of Tammy’s greatest life accomplishment was the close loving friendship Tammy shared with her mother.
She was employed as a dealer at Foxwoods Casino for the past year.
In addition to her parents, Tammy is survived by three brothers, Christopher Hemme, Matthew Hemme, and Jonathan Hemme, all of Ledyard; her maternal grandfather, Ernest I. Smith of Wakefield, RI; her paternal grandfather, Melvin Hemme of Ledyard. Other survivors include Wayne Dole, Judith Dole, Tina Dole, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Tammy’s family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic, on Thursday from 5-8pm.
A Funeral Service will conducted on Friday at 11am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery with a Celebration of Life reception to follow at the Groton Lodge of Elks.
