
LEICESTER: Gail M. (Thompson) Strout 68, of Forest St., Leicester died Tuesday, Feb. 26 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester.
She was the wife of Lloyd G. Strout, Sr. who died in 2011. She leaves two sons Lloyd G. Strout, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Spencer and Glenn T. Strout of Leicester, two daughters Cynthia D. Shaw and her husband Keith of Hawaii and Sarah L. Strout of Tomkins Cove, NY, 8 grand children; Brandon, Jessica, Nicholas, Nina, Ariana, Jacob, Kara and Kali, several nieces and nephews.
Gail was a bookkeeper at Quaker High Risk Insurance Co. in Worcester before retiring last year. Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of Nicholas and Sadie (Ackley) Thompson. She later graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester. She was a member of the Millbury Federated Church where she sang in its choir and was the bookkeeper. She was known as the “Milky Way Lady”…if you said a swear, you paid her with a candy bar.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Mar 2 at 10 a.m. in the MORIN-MORRISON FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester. Calling hours are Friday, Mar. 1 from 5 to 7p.m. Burial will be at a later date in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Millbury Federated Church, 20 Main St., Millbury, Ma. 01527.
