STEPHEN JOSEPH HADERSKI, age 54, of New York City, formerly of Weymouth, died on Friday, July 9th at his home in Manhattan after a brief illness. Mr. Haderski was born and raised in Weymouth, graduating from Weymouth High School in 1968. He then attended the Art Institute of Chicago where he studied photography. In 1972 he moved to Manhattan and worked as an interior decorator for many years, designing one of a kind pieces of furniture and jewelry for clients along with other creative projects too numerous to mention. His most well known creation was the puppet "Madame" who regularly appeared on the Andy Williams Show in the 1970's with Waylon Flowers. He loved showing his friends and family around New York City sharing his passion for beauty and his detailed knowledge of architecture and history. Until recently, he worked full time at ABC Carpet & Home in Manhattan where he specialized in the sale of oriental carpets.He was the son of Stephen J. Haderski of Randolph and the late Grace (Goedecke) Haderski-Muzzi. In addition, he leaves his five sisters; Grace L. Price of Dallas, Georgia,Ruth A. Haderski of Weymouth, Susan M. Cook of Fort Myers, FL, Margaret M. Haderski of Providence, RI and Sherrill L. DeAndrade of Weymouth. Nephew of Pauline M. Hermanson of Florida, Laura C. Ricci of Scituate and Mark H. Goedecke, Jr. of Maine. Godfather of Katy Kazzola of Ocala, FL. Also survived by 5 nieces, a nephew and his dog 'Toby'.A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, July 23rd at 10:30 AM at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham.Friends may visit at the Downing Chapel on Thursday from 4-7 PM.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Stephen J. Haderski Memorial Fund, c/o 35 Audubon Rd., Suite 302, Weymouth, MA 02188.Interment will be in the Liberty Plain Cemetery, Hingham.
