Obituary


Manchester– Charlotte S. Carignan, 89, died February 25, 2013 at Community Hospice House in Merrimack following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Lowell, MA on October 4, 1923 the daughter of Edward C. and Virginia C. (Lemay) Eno.
She graduated from Lowell High School and Bradshaw Business College.
She had been living in Manchester since 1947.
She worked as a stenographer at Ft. Devens, MA. during world War II and as an executive secretary for Textron and Sanders Associates. After raising a family she worked as an executive secretary for the Manchester Transit Authority and retired in 1991.
She was a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Church.
One of her favorite activities was swimming with friends at the Allard Center YMCA.
She was predeceased by her husband George W. Carignan, December 25, 1977 and her sister Natalie Cheney, March 7, 2011.
Members of her family include one son, Edward C. Carignan and his wife Charlene of Goffstown, three daughters and their spouses: Elaine and Larry Maurice of Hillsboro, Francine and James Lyon of Goffstown; and Sandra and George Whittemore of Princeton, MA.; seven grandchildren, and two great grandsons.
She was a joy and inspiration to her family and friends.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 5 to 7 pm at the J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 9 am in St. Catherine of Sienna Church, corner of Webster and Hemlock Sts.. Committal prayers will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Community Hospice House, 210 Naticook Rd., Merrimack, NH 03054.
