Obituary


Raymond E. Demers, 82, of Hooksett, NH died February 25, 2013 at Catholic Medical Center following a brief illness.

He was born in Manchester on April 1, 1930 and was the son of Ernest J. and Emilia (Morin) Demers. He served in the US Army and was a member of the 187th RCT Unit in Korea where he was awarded a Purple Heart.

Raymond was a graduate of Manchester High School Central and a graduate of Palmer School of Chiropractic.

He enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was a longtime Scout Master for local troop 110 and enjoyed the outdoors.

He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans and the Blinded Veterans Association.

Family members include his son, Marc Demers and his wife Christine of Manchester; two-step-grandchildren, Michelle Beale and Michael McAllister; a sister-in-law, Mary Demers; and four nieces, Denise Southmayd, Joyce Franco, Patricia Demers and Karen Gross. He was predeceased by his wife of 56 yrs Rita Demers in 2007 and by a brother, Albert Demers.


A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Friday, March 1, 2013 in the Parish of Transfiguration, 107 Alsace St. Burial with military honors followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Judes Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942
