Obituary

Sister M. Albertine (Mildred) Stevens age 78, a Sister of Mercy for 59 years, died Monday July 19, 2004 after a brief illness. A native of Nashua, NH, she was the daughter of the late George R. and Catherine (Mallon) Stevens.

Sister Albertine received her B.S. degree in education from Mount St. Mary College in Hooksett, NH. For many years she was a dedicated teacher of primary school children in New Hampshire. She taught at St. Joseph School in Keene, St. Patrick School in Portsmouth, St. Mary School in Franklin, St. John School in Concord, St Joseph, St. Raphael, Mt. St. Mary Day School, and St. Anthon’s School all in Manchester, NH.

Sr. Albertine also served as librarian at St. Anthony/East Side Catholic Regional School in Manchester and Sacred Heart School in Hampton. After retiring from the schools, she moved to Nashua where she tutored students in need of individualized instruction.

Family member include 2 Sister In Laws: Theresa Stevens of Concord, NH and Alida Stevens of Nashua, NH.

A niece, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews, and cousins.

She was also predeceased by her sister Marjorie and her Brothers, George, and John Stevens all of Nashua, NH

Friends may call at the Sisters of Mercy Warde Health Center, 21 Searles Road, Windham,, NH form 4-7 PM on Thursday July 22, 2004. A Prayer service will be held in Our Lady of Mercy Chapel, Sisters of Mercy, Windham, NH at 7 PM on Thursday.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 23, 2004 at 11 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Chapel Sisters of Mercy, Windham, NH.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph cemetery, Bedford, NH.

Arrangements are by the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street, Salem, NH.
