Anna M. Shepard, 100, died Sunday, February 24, 2013 in her home. She was the wife of the late Harry I. Shepard and had been a Danvers resident for 76 years.
Born in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Mary (Brawders) Powers. She was raised and educated in Beverly and was a graduate of Beverly High School and Burdett College.
She worked as a bookkeeper and secretary for many years. Her passion was her flower garden, but she also enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by her sister, Katherine Tindley of Essex, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, John J. Powers, Jr., and her sister, Margaret M. Minigan.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 9AM in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow in North Beverly Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited. As requested, there are no visiting hours.
