Obituary

William Dave “Bill” Bishop, age 81, of Jacksonville Beach, FL passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2013, at Baptist Medical Center Beaches, in Jacksonville, FL following a brief illness. Mr. Bishop was born on September 15, 1931, in Broxton, GA to the late David and Ethel Hulett Bishop.

He served with the 187th Airborne, U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a hairdresser for 45 years and owned his own shop in the Jacksonville area. He was a member of the 187th Airborne Infantry Regiment Association where he held several officer positions with the Florida Chapter and the National Chapter.

Survivors include: his special friend for 41, Lee White, sister, Willie Maude Spell, of Douglas, GA, four nieces, Marjorie (Conway) Harper, of Douglas, GA, Frances (Harry) Paulk Smith, Davon (Kenneth) Burnam, and Mahala (James) Pearson, all of Ambrose, GA.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 23 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Graveside Service will held on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Bethany Church Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Sayer and Rev Farrell Harper officiating.
