Raymond C. Powers, 95, a lifelong resident of Derry, NH died February 20, 2013 in the Pleasant Valley Nursing Center, Derry. Mr. Powers was born in Derry on December 5, 1917, a son of the late Charles and Maude (Cote) Powers. He served with the US Army during WWII. Mr. Powers retired from Sundeen Refrigeration in Manchester, NH where he worked as an appliance technician for 30 years. He was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church and a member of the K of C Council 3023, both of Derry. Mr. Powers enjoyed camping, hunting, photography and travelling.
He is survived by two daughters, Kathleen J. Powers of Derry, and Sandra M. Williams and her husband Richard of Andover, NH, three grandchildren, Karen Gosselin of Sunapee, NH, Jerry Williams of Concord, NH, and Sandra Williams of Hartland, VT, two great-granddaughters, Summer Gosselin and Natalie Chute-McGee, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Irene J. (Latulippe) Powers in 2004.
Calling hours were held on Monday February 25, 2013 from 4 – 7:30 pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry. Burial with military honors followed in Holy Cross Cemetery, Londonderry, NH.
