Obituary

DEVLIN George W. of West Roxbury formerly of Brockton died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013 surrounded by his family after a period of failing health. Loving husband of Janene M. (Skehan) Devlin. Father of Robert of Brockton and John of Abington. Son of John and M. Jeanne Devlin of West Roxbury. Son in-law of the late Robert and Jean Skehan. Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 centre St. WEST ROXBURY on Saturday, Feb. 23rd. at 10:30am. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Theresa Church, West Roxbury at 11:30am. Visiting hours Friday 4-8pm. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Gethsemane Cemetery. George was a 1973 graduate of Catholic Memorial High School. And 1977 graduate of Suffolk University. He worked for many years as a Loan Officer at Baybank and Scituate Federal Savings Bank. He was an accomplished Martial Arts earning Master Status and a Fifth Degree Black Belt in Shaolin Kempo Karate. He dedicated over 20 years of his life to volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 20 in Brockton and Old Colony Council devoting countless time to advancing Scouting. George enjoyed spending time with his family and sons camping at Camp Squantoand in Stowe, Vt. and Disney World in Florida. George was the recipient of the Vigil Honor order of the Arrow. BSA.
