Henry Baptiste, Jr., 67, of Hyannis died July 17, 2004 at Cape Cod Hospital Hospital after a long illness.
Born and raised in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Henry and Christina (Baptist) Baptist. More recently, he resided at the Greenery Nursing Center in Hyannis for the last 4 1/2 years and served as Council President.
He was a charter member of the International Church of the Nazarene.
Mr. Baptiste was formerly employed as a machine operator at Chamberlain Manufacturing for several years and served as shop steward.
He served in the US Army for two years stationed in Germany. Mr. Baptiste enjoyed sports and was a die hard New York Yankees fan.
Survivors include his 2 sisters, Adeline Baptiste and Mary Baptiste, both of New Bedford; his brother, John Baptist of Fairhaven; several nieces and a nephew.
He was the brother of the late Benny Baptist, Joseph Baptist, Josephine Baptist, Julia Baptist and Eunice Baptist.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New BedfordWednesday, July 21st at 11 AM.
Visiting hours Tuesday, July 20th from 5-8 PM.
