OBITUARY
SANDOWN, NH: Linda L. (Francis) Carroll, 71, formerly of Gloucester, died Sunday afternoon, February 17, 2013 at the Parkland Medical Center, Derry, New Hampshire. She was the wife of John P. Carroll.
Born in Gloucester on December 18, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Hazel (Lane) Francis. She was a graduate of the Gloucester High School class of 1959.
Linda was employed at Carroll K. Steele Insurance Agency while in high school and for many years beyond.
She was a former member of The Seashore Rebekah Lodge and a lifemember of the Trinity Congregational Church.
For over fifty years, Linda had maintained a penpal relationship with the late Patricia Shiell of Newcastle Upon Tyne, England.
In addition to her husband of forty-six years, she is survived by her son, Christopher P. Carroll, life partner of Denis Duquette of Pelham, NH; two daughters, Amy, wife of Robert Vicari and Deborah, wife of Shaun Powers; four grandchildren, Caitlin and Briana Powers and Noah and Megan Vicari all of Gloucester; and cousins, Gloria Campbell, Rev. Timothy Hoyt, Arlene Bassett, Charles “Chuck” Holmes, Richard Holmes and Robert Holmes, and their families.
Her funeral service will be held on Saturday morning in the Trinity Congregational Church, Middle Street, Gloucester at 10:30 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Friday evening in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester from 5 – 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
