New Bedford – Martin P. Cairns Jr., age 77 years, died Monday, February 18th at St. Luke’s Hospital. He is survived by his brother Robert J. Cairns of New Bedford; his sister Barbara Cassidy, wife of Steven, from Cape Coral, Florida; his niece Maureen Aguiar Missey and 3 nephews: Christopher Cassidy, Michael Cassidy and Steven Cassidy.
Martin was born in New Bedford, son of Emily (Perry) and Martin P. Cairns. Prior to his retirement, Martin was the owner of Junior’s Variety Store and the Juror’s Inn.
Mr. Cairns Jr.’s Memorial Mass will be Saturday June 8 at Our Lady of Guadalupe at St. James Church at 10 A.M. Burial of his cremains to follow at St. John Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited.
