Bill F. Christian, age 78 of Clarksville, TN, died on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Gateway Medical Center.
He was born on December 5, 1934 in Le Junior, KY to the late Richard Hamilton Christian and Katie Green Christian. He was also preceded in death by his son, Freddie Christian; two brothers, Bob Christian and Buck Christian; and four sisters, Delena Maples, Newa Day, Bea Carr and Thelma (Trigger) Cook.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 11 a.m., at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel, with Rev. Reed Shepherd officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. and Wednesday, February 20, 2013 from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Bill was a Retired U.S. Army Veteran having served twenty years, and civil service worker, having served eighteen years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Oak Grove, KY. Bill and Wanda had celebrated fifty-seven years of marriage.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Wanda Owens Christian of Clarksville, TN; son, Rev. Richard Christian (Jamie) of Gretna, LA; two sisters, Betty Jackson of Middlesboro, KY and Tommie Coomer of Hendersonville, KY; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Vance Viscusi, Jesse Brown, Caleb Christian, Tony Henry, Robert Minton, and Jerry Tucker. Honorary Pallbearers will be John (Shorty) Hendrix and Billy Johnson.
