Obituary

CAMPBELL, Roderick J. Age 87, of Westwood, died peacefully at home, February 13. Beloved husband of the late Jean M. (Hart). Born in Milton. Son of the late Harry M. & Alexandra (Hill). Proud father of three sons and three daughters, Roddy, Jr. and his wife, Dee of Dedham; Patricia and her husband, Dominic Gallagher of Dedham, Sean of Westwood, Kathleen of Hyde Park, Peter and his wife, Joyce of Kansas City, Margaret Priestley and her late husband, Joel of Westwood. Proud also of his ten grandchildren and all of his nieces and nephews. Devoted brother of Irene Beach, the late Dorothy Keefer, and the late Mildred. Graduate of Milton High School. Served in the Pacific with U.S. Marine Corps. during WWII. Sole proprietor of H.M. Campbell & Son Orthopedic and Surgical of Brookline for over 50 years. Member of St. Denis Church, St. Pius X Church, active in St. Vincent de Paul Society, and the Knights of Columbus. His love for his wife, Jean was passionate, romantic, and undying. His personality was large and engaging and his delight in celebration of family life was keen. He had a sparkle in his eye that warmed our hearts and kindled many a good time.

Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons, Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., DEDHAM, Monday at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass in St. Denis Church, Westwood, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Sunday 4-8. Interment Milton Cemetery. Donations, in lieu of flowers, to Hematology/Oncology Dept., St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Brighton.
