Obituary

AUBURN-John J. “Jack” Poske, 63 of 48 Pinehurst Avenue, formerly of Worcester, died Thursday, July 15th in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center, after a long illness. He leaves 2 daughters, Christine, wife of Brian Anderson, with whom he lived and Sharon, wife of William Powers of Cherry Valley, 3 sons John and his wife Christine Poske of Worcester, Raymond and his wife Kathleen Krafve of Worcester, and Robert and his wife Julie Krafve of Arizona. His 4th son, Scott Krafve predeceased him. He also leaves 2 sisters, Agnes Oslowski and Mary Poske both of Worcester, 2 brothers Frank Poske, Jr. of Worcester and George Poske of Spencer, 18 grandchildren, nephews, nieces and friends.

He was born in Worcester, son of the late Frank and Mary (Walsh) Poske. Mr. Poske served 7 years in the Army National Guard as a medic in Germany and was a long time employee of Morgan Construction Co., retiring in 1996 due to illness. In his youth, he was an avid boxer and won a golden glove earning him the nickname “Rocky”. Before his health deteriorated he enjoyed camping, gardening, fishing and carpentry.

In later years he enjoyed time with his grandchildren and socializing with many friends at the Green Island Pub in Worcester. He will always be remembered for his unique sense of humor and playful banter with friends and relatives. He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.

The funeral is Monday, July 19th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 600 Cambridge Street, Worcester. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours will be Sunday, July 18th from 1:00 until 4:00 PM in the funeral home.
