SONJA NAN (SIELING) BLACKMUR, age 68, of Rockland, formerly of Hingham, died on Wednesday, July 14th at the Hingham home of her son, Stanley R. Blackmur, after a brief illness. She was born in Des Moines, Iowa and was raised and educated in Amherst, MA. She was a Hingham resident from 1962 to 1990 at which time she moved to Leisurewoods in Rockland. During her years in Hingham, she served as a health aide in the Hingham Public Schools for 15 years and also worked at the Hingham Public Library.Mrs. Blackmur was a member of the Hingham Yacht Club, the Hingham Mother's Club,was active in the Leisurewoods community and enjoyed gardening.She was the wife of the late Richard Blackmur, Jr. In addition to her son, Stanley, she leaves her brother; Hal D. Sieling of Carlsbad, CA; and two grandsons, Kevin P.R. Blackmur and Caleb D.D. Blackmur both of Hingham. She was also the aunt of Scott Sieling of Encinitas, CA and Cynthia Sieling of Camarillo, CA.Friends may visit at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham on Monday, July 19th, from 4-8 PM.
