Obituary

Omer J. Gill, 73, of Laconia died July 14, 2004 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on April 25, 1931, the son of Simon U. and Helena L. (Boily) Gill. He resided in Laconia all of his life.

Mr. Gill graduated from Laconia High School, class of 1949. He served in the US Air Force from 1951-1955. He was employed as a master plumber for many years at Francoeur & Gill Plumbing & Heating Company and was a long time member of Local #131 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carmel M. (Miville) Gill of Laconia; two sons, Paul O. Gill of Surprise AZ and John A. Gill and his wife Pam of Cave Creek, AZ; two daughters, Lise M. DeHart and her husband Glen of Belmont NH and Renee Savat and her husband Tony of Newton NH; five grandchildren, Jeremy DeHart, Celine Savat, Wesley Savat, Ian Gill and Katerina Gill; a brother, Marcel S. Gill and a sister, Helen O’Leary; several nieces and nephews.

There are no calling hours. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated In Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Ave. on Saturday, July 31 at 11:30 AM. Urn burial followed in Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, 780 N. Main St. Laconia NH 03246 or Lakes Region General Hospital Oncology Dept. 80 Highland St. Laconia NH 03246.
