George J. Bornas, Jr., 67

Dateline: Burlington, MA

George J. Bornas, Jr., age 67, of Burlington passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, February 8, 2013.
Born in Medford, MA on October 3, 1945, he was a loving son of the late George J., Sr. and Lillian E. (Newcomb) Bornas.
George grew up and was educated in Medford and for a short period of time had also lived in Somerville. During the Vietnam Era, he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force prior to being honorably discharged.
A resident of Burlington for over 50 years, Mr. Bornas had been employed as a Mail Handler for the United Postal Service in Reading. George enjoyed trips to the New England Casino’s and also Las Vegas.
He is survived by his cousins Raymond Leslie Robbins and James E. Robbins both of Norton, Michael J. Smith of Florida and the late Douglas E. Smith.
His Memorial Service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Friday, April 26th at 1:00 P.M. in the Trinitarian Congregational Church, East Main and Pine Streets, Norton. Burial will follow in the Norton Center Cemetery in Norton.
Visiting hours are omitted and those wishing may remember George with a donation in his memory made to the New England Center For Homeless Veterans, 17 Court Street, 9th Floor, Boston, MA 02108.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St., Norton.
