Stella Mothon, 87, a resident of Methuen, MA, passed away on Friday, February 1, 2013 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, MA.
Born in Lawrence, MA, Stella was educated in the Lawrence Schools and was a graduate of Lawrence High School. She went on to receive a certificate in General Chemistry from Lowell Technical Institute. Stella took many other courses of study as well. She had worked for many years in the Research Laboratory at Tufts Medical Center and had contributed to several Medical Journal articles. Stella was an active parishioner at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Andover, MA, where she was a member of the church choir for many years. Stella was also a member of GOYA, a Greek youth organization which promoted youth activities with educational purposes. She had also been a member of the Lawrencian Ski Club for many years and went to ski areas in the U.S., Canada, France, Switzerland, and Germany with the group. Stella enjoyed traveling with her friends as well.
The daughter of the late Philip and Crisoula (Vlahos) Mothon, members of Stella's family include:
her sister: Claire Cott and her husband Thomas of Nashua, NH, brothers: Charles Mothon and his wife Terri of Ballston Spa, NY, and Louis Mothon and his wife Rose of Methuen, MA, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
