
Dorothy Adaline (Stark) Currier-Chapman, of West Mystic, wife of the late Albert Currier and Clarence Chapman, died peacefully on Jan. 15, 2013, at Pendleton in Mystic.
She was born in Shrub Oak, N.Y., on Sept. 6,1922, daughter of the late Ward and Betsy (Crawford) Stark. Dorothy devoted her life to taking care of her family and anyone who needed a meal or a place to stay. She was a loving person with a generous heart and a loving spirit.
Dorothy married Albert A. Currier (deceased) and moved to West Mystic in 1945, where they raised their five children, Ward Currier of Griswold, Albert A. Currier Jr. (deceased), Bradford W. Currier II of North Stonington, Dahl E. Currier (deceased), and her daughter, Laura (Currier) Leaycraft of Griswold.
She leaves behind 20 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; and friends who loved her very much.
The Memorial Service for Dorothy has been postponed because of snow and has been rescheduled for Saturday, February 16, at 1:00pm at the North Stonington Baptist Church, 5 Rocky Hollow Road, North Stonington, with a reception after the service at the church. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend and rejoice with us for her beautiful life.
