Michael J. Palumbo died Sunday at the Kindred Rehabilitation Center in Dedham. He was 74.
Born and raised in Boston’s North End, Michael was the son of the late Benjamin and Josephine (DeFalco) Palumbo. Michael lived most of his life in the North End, but also resided in Medford and most recently in Bridgewater, for several years. He owned and operated Opt-Tech Inc. in West Bridgewater, a wholesale optical firm. A Trustee of the Bridgewater Co-Operative Bank, Michael was devoted to his family and friends.
The devoted father of Gina Venskus of Medford, He was the dear brother of Kathleen Marino of Reading and Richard Palumbo of Wakefield. The longtime companion of Linda (Murphy) Dente, he is predeceased by his former wife Sally (Holmes) Palumbo.
Family and friends may visit Wednesday from 4 - 8 at Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford and again on Thursday morning at 10 followed by a funeral mass celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
