Salem, NH – Elisa F. (Picone) Bistany, 79 died Tuesday February 5, 2013 at Wingate Nursing Home in Haverhill surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Lawrence Mrs Bistany was the daughter of Peter and her mother Filomena (Tucci) Picone and was a graduate of Lawrence High School. Mrs. Bistany was a mother and homemaker of 6 children.
She was the family matriarch and her life was her family.
The widow of Norman J. Bistany Elisa is survived by children; Jacqueline and husband Michael Callahan of Salem, NH, Norman Jr., and wife Ann Bistany of Danvers, Ma. Kenneth and wife Donna Bistany of Salem, NH, Peter and wife Sandra Bistany of Windham, NH, Phillip and wife Christine Bistany of Salem, NH, and Steven of PA, sisters Lucy Giarrusso of Haverhill, and Linda Pyles of Salem, NH, brothers Frank Picone of FL, Albert Picone of Methuen, and Peter Picone of Lawrence, 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday morning at 11 o’clock in Mary Queen of Peace Church in Salem, NH with burial to follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
Friends will be warmly received on Thursday from 3-8 P.M. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
