CHICOPEE – Claire M. (Hetu) Moreau, 84, of the Willimansett section of Chicopee passed away peacefully on Monday, February 4, 2013 at Birch Manor in Chicopee. She was born at home in Willimansett on August 24, 1928, a daughter of the late Amedee and Anna (Deslauriers) Hetu and was nearly a lifelong resident of Willimansett. Claire was a communicant of the former Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Willimansett and later a communicant of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Chicopee. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Roland D. Moreau who passed away on April 1, 1982. She leaves her loving children, Cynthia A. Brill and her husband, Joseph of Riverton, NJ, Arthur N. Moreau and his wife, Suzanne of Belchertown, Janet J. Moreau of Holyoke, Paul J. Moreau and his wife, Lynn of Windsor, CT and Robert W. Moreau and his wife, Theresa of Chicopee; her three cherished grandchildren, Bryan Moreau, Craig Moreau and his fiancée, Sarah Dupuis and Jeffrey Moreau; and several nephews and nieces. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her sister, Jeanne Gosselin; and her brother, Lionel Hetu. Her funeral will be held on Thursday morning, February 7, 2013 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
