John Scopelleti, 87, of Seabrook, New Hampshire died on February 2, 2013 with his family by his side.
John spent his career as a professional chef, having owned two restaurants. In addition he catered many weddings and special occasions. He enjoyed sharing his most-prized recipes with family and friends. John was a lover of the beach, a connoisseur of the kitchen, a wheeler-and-dealer, a skilled traveler, and greeted nearly everyone as "bella" in his broken Italian accent.
John is survived by sons and daughters Anthony Scopelleti and wife Susan, John Scopelleti and wife Kathy, Rose Robbins and husband Mark, Mary Scopelleti-Howes, and Patricia Ferrelli. Grandfather of 11 granddaughters and grandsons and great grandfather of 6. He leaves behind his brother Anthony Scopelliti and wife Phyllis, and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son Joseph Scopelleti and daughter-in-law Reta, as well as sister Mary Arena.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor at The Hyder House of Dover, NH.
Friends and family are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the family at Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) Stoneham on Wednesday February 6, 2013 from 4-8pm. The funeral will start at Barile Family Funeral Home at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating John’s Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Center St. Stoneham at 10am. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
