GLOUCESTER: Lina K. (Mackey) Babine, 87, died unexpectedly on Monday morning, February 4, 2013 at the Addison Gilbert Hospital. She was the wife of the late Charles A. Babine, who died in May of 2008. They had shared sixty-three years of marriage.
Born in Rockport on October 17, 1925, she was the daughter of the late William and Ida J. (Mann) Mackey. She attended Rockport public schools and had been a resident of Gloucester since 1942.
Lina was a homemaker, who enjoyed spending time with her family, playing bingo and her cat, Mitty. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Dorothy Babine; two daughters, Diane Roberts and Donna Pike; eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by four brothers and three sisters.
In keeping with her wishes, committal services will be held privately in the Locust Grove Cemetery. There are no visiting hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester.
