Obituary

BEVERLY: James F. Cagney, 64, died Friday, February 1, 2013 surrounded by his loving family and friends in the Kindred Hospital in Peabody. He was the beloved husband of Andrea J. (Perkins) Cagney.
Born in Beverly on October 26, 1948, he was the son of Virginia C. (Gates) Cagney and the late John J. Cagney. He was a lifelong resident of Beverly and a graduate of Beverly High School. A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he was honorably discharged in February 1971.
Jim was employed as the shipping manager at S. C. P. Distributors in North Andover for thirty-eight years. He enjoyed helping family and friends working on their pools. As the official neighborhood grill master, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also loved to play horseshoes, darts, singing karaoke and spending time on the water.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his son, Eric J. Cagney; four daughters, Jamie McCarthy and her husband Sean, Elke Tarquinio and her husband Jason, Christina Cagney and Monika Malio Cagney; nine grandchildren; two brothers, John Cagney and his wife Judy and Peter Cagney and his wife Debbie; father and mother-in-law, John and Joan Paddol; two sisters-in-law, Irene Tassone and LeAnn LaRochelle and her husband Roger; four brothers-in-law, John Paddol and his wife Jean, Jay Paddol and his wife Jill, Michael Paddol and his wife Nancy and Mike Regan and his wife Judy; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
His funeral service will be held on Friday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot St., Beverly at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 5 – 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 9 Erie Dr., Natick, MA 01760. Interment will be held in North Beverly Cemetery.
