
Pamela R. “Pam” Pusey died Friday, February 1, 2013, at her residence in Ocilla, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Monday, February 4, 2013, at Ocilla Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Edward McIntyre and Elder Paul Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Valley Grove Cemetery in Ocilla. The family will receive friends for visitation from 5-7 P.M. Sunday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Pusey was born in Irwin County on May 1, 1943, to the late John Leonard and Tiny Pope Roberts. She was an honor graduate of Irwin County High School Class of 1961. She graduated Georgia Southern University with a major in education. She retired after 38 years of working with the Ben-Hill County Board of Education. She was a member of Ocilla Primitive Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and also served as church pianist for over 50 years. She was secretary of Ben-Hill Irwin Retired Education Association. Being an educator, she continued supporting children through volunteering with her children and grandchildren’s school activities.
Survivors include her husband, Jud Pusey of Ocilla; three daughters Kelly (Bill) Bass of Cairo, Georgia, Melissa Jean Pusey of Charleston, South Carolina, and Aimee Pless of Ocilla; and five grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.
