
Hazel Pack, age 85, died Friday, February 1, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Batesville, MS. She was born June 14, 1926 in Calhoun County, MS to the late Walter “Watt” and Willie Mattie Pearl Jones Adams. Hazel was a member of Mt. Liberty Baptist Church, a homemaker and mother to three adopted grandchildren whom she raised. She was an avid coin collector and enjoyed researching her family’s genealogy. She loved playing cards, dancing every Saturday night at the VFW, and spending time with her family and friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 4, 2013 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Seven Oaks with Dr. Ron Kirkland officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery with Darrell Adams, Billy Adams, Kevin Kimzey, Ronnie Methvin, James Potts, and Jason Adams serving as pallbearers. Jimmy Cleve Peacock, Bobby Adams, Otis Sorrells and Paul Morin will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Hazel is survived by her companion of 5 1/2 years, Otis Sorrells of Marks, MS; two sons, Rickey Peacock and Randy (Linda) Peacock all of Coffeeville, MS; eight grandchildren, Audrey (Davy) Kirkland of Gulfport, MS, Missy (Kevin) Kimzey, Randy (Carla) Peacock all of Water Valley, MS, Ashley Crowe of Oxford, MS, Rickey (Michelle) Peacock, Jr., Jennifer Peacock and Laura (Brian) Bowen all of West Virginia, and Jason Mottz of Corinth, MS; twenty-one great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Darlene Peacock; five sisters, Helen Leipstorff, Minnie Johnson, Catherine Ross, Louise Doris and Sally Hanson; a grandson, Jeffrey Peacock.
