Robert A. MacMillan age 90 of Salem, died Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at the Edith Nourse Rogers V.A. Hosptital in Bedford, following a long illness. He was the husband of the late Mary T. (Iacono) MacMillan.
Born and raised in Beverly, he was the son of the late Edward and Grace R. (Doty) MacMillan. A Veteran of World War II he served two enlistments with the Army in Europe where he was wounded in combat. Robert was the recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Following his discharge, he returned to Beverly and worked as a machinist for General Electric, until his retirement. He was a former member of the VFW Witch City post 1524 and the DAV of Salem.
He is survived by his son, Robert A. MacMillan, Jr. of Salem, a brother, Fred MacMillan of Peabody, three step-daughters, Charlene Fallis, Rosemary Flynn & Josephine Guilbault all of Salem, 2 step-sons, Michael Fallis of Lynn and Robert Fallis of Florida.
He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Jessica & Jason Fallis, Michael Flynn, Nicole & Dina Fallis, Christopher Guilbault, Justin & Erica Fallis, as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Friday, February 1, 2013 at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.
