Nicola Salvatore Spinosa died peacefully at the Winchester Hospital on Saturday. He was 87.
Born and raised in Gaeta, Italy, He was the son of the late Francesco and the late Regina (DiMille) Spinosa. As a young man he came to the United States but then returned to Gaeta to be married. He then came back and settled in Somerville where he was joined by his wife in 1956 and they began to raise their family. A Medford resident since 1972, Mr. Spinosa was a hardworking man who was devoted to his family and a good friend to many.
The beloved husband of Giosina (Capobianco) with whom he shared 57 years of marriage, he was a devoted father to Regina Azzolino and her husband Frank of Acton, Frank Spinosa and his wife Beth of Winchester. He leaves his loving grandchildren: Nicholas, Alexandra, Frankie, Vincent and Ciana. The dear brother of Mary Simeone of Gaeta, Italy he was predeceased by his siblings: Carmela, Erasmo, Cosmo and Damiano.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Saturday February 2nd at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family Friday, 4 – 8 PM at the Funeral Home. Services will conclude with entombment at Woodlawn Mausoleum, Everett.
