Obituary

WEST SPRINGFIELD – Edward T. McDonough, 53, of West Springfield passed away at his home on Monday, January 14, 2013. He was born in Holyoke on August 6, 1959, a son of Thomas F. McDonough of Springfield and the late Anne (Doyle) McDonough who passed away in 1990. He was raised on Hungry Hill in Springfield, graduated in 1977 from Tech High School and lived in the city for many years before moving to West Springfield around 2007. He was employed as a mail handler at the Bulk Mail Center in Indian Orchard. Ed was a loyal Miami Dolphins fan who was always ready to root for his favorite team. Besides his father, he leaves: his loving children, Thomas E. McDonough of Springfield and Lauren A. McDonough of East Longmeadow; his brother, Thomas G. “Gerry” McDonough of Springfield; his sister, Mary Ruth Boddie and her husband, Roger, of Abington, MA; his nephews, Mark Boddie and his wife, Alicia, of Providence, RI and Roger Boddie of Abington, MA; and his former wife, Maureen M. Tyburski of East Longmeadow. Besides his mother, he was also predeceased by his brother, John McDonough who passed away in 1994. His relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, January 31, 2013 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107.
