Obituary

LEOMINSTER-Athanasios Christodoulou, 63, of 14 Columbia Street, died Sunday, July 11th at home after an illness. He leaves his wife of 41 years, Angeliki (Bakirtzis) Christodoulou, 2 sons, Nikolaos and Georgios Christodoulou, both of Leominster, his mother, Garifalia (Argiriadis) Christodoulou of Chrysochorafa, Serron, Greece, a brother, Ioannis Christodoulou of Chrysochorafa, Serron, Greece, a sister, Soultana Lazaridis of Lithotopos, Serron, Greece, 3 grandsons, Athanasios Christodoulou of Leominster, Alexandros and Angelos Christodoulou both of Hamburg, Germany, a granddaughter, Angeliki Christodoulou, of Leominster and several nephews and nieces.

He was born in Chrysochorafa, Serron, Greece the son of Nikolas Christodoulou and lived there all of his life until moving to Leominster in 2000. He was a veteran of the Greek Army. Mr. Christodoulou owned and operated a family farm in Greece and also worked as a lumberjack. He was currently co-owner of Pizza Chef in Leominster.

The funeral is Wednesday, July 14th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester, with an 11:00 AM service in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street, Worcester. Burial is in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are Tuesday, July 13th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. A Trisagion Service will be held during the calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
