Obituary

Dorothy Cecilia Parham was born on December 18, 1920 in Harlem, N.Y. to Ethel And Walter Perry. Dorothy was the youngest of four siblings, three sisters and one brother, all of whom are now deceased.
Dottye, as she was known, was educated in Harlem and is also where she met Clifford Parham in 1935 and they married in 1939. From this union, they had a son Dennis, now Rev. Dr. Dennis Parham who resides in Hackensack, N.J. with his wife Eida. Dottye worked for the New York Telephone Co. as a Personnel Manager, she retired in 1979 after 26 years of service.
Her interests were her clubs, she was president of the New Jersey Wives, a charitable and social organization that raised funds and donated Blood Pressure machines and televisions to the Veterans Hospital in East Orange, N.J. and Englewood Hospital, where they were Honored with a plaque.
Survivors who will cherish her memory include a son, Rev. Dr. Dennis Parham, daughter-in-law Eida Parham, granddaughter Keisha Diaz, great grandchildren Mia, Nia and Manny Diaz, nephews Walter Villa, Anthony Villa and Harold Grace, Nieces Joan Ferguson and Gloria Jean Chestnut and a host of special neighbors and friends.

Friends and relatives are invited to visit Wednesday 11AM– 12PM at Volk Leber Funeral Home, 789 Teaneck Road, Teaneck. A funeral service will begin at 12PM. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus
