Roy A. “Soup” Campbell, age 61, of Brockton, died unexpectedly, January 24, 2013 at Good Samaritan Medical Center. He was the loving husband for 15 years of Luz Evangeline S. Dizon, MD. Born in Quincy, he was the son of the late Louis A. and Mildred (Maxwell) Campbell. Roy was raised in Dorchester and Marshfield and was a graduate of Marshfield High School, class of 1970; he earned an Associate’s Degree from Essex Community College. For many years he was employed by Bay State Oil and Gas. As a hobby, he enjoyed learning how things worked. Roy was fascinated with history and he and his wife traveled to Europe to view many historical sites. He also enjoyed woodworking, tinkering on cars, fishing and hunting, and was a longtime member of the Corner Stone Masons Lodge in Duxbury.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his beloved daughter Dawn Campbell of Wollaston, a sister Dale I. Williams of West Greenwich, RI, a stepson George Enriquez and his wife Victoria of Framingham and a granddaughter Hannah Enriquez. He was the brother of the late Ralph Campbell.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton, Monday 4-7pm followed by a Funeral Service at 7pm. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Roy’s name to the Corner Stone Lodge, att: Building Fund, PO Box 1088, Duxbury, MA 02332.
