Obituary

LOWELL—Shirley Ann (Bishop) Holmes, 71 years old, died early Thursday morning at her home in Townsend. She was the wife of John R. Holmes, who survives her.

She was born in Portland, ME, on October 12, 1932, a daughter of the late Arthur and Helen (Bishop) Leveque. She was a graduate of Lowell Public Schools.

Mrs. Holmes was employed as a data entry operator by the Prince Macaroni Company, and previously in the bindery department of the Courier Citizen Corporation. She was an avid bingo player.

Surviving her besides her husband are a daughters and son-in-law: Paula and Russell J. Sykes, II, of Townsend; a son-in-law: Thomas Paquette, of Amherst, NH; three grandchildren: Keri Ann Mahoney, Russell Sykes, III; and Jamie Mahoney; a brother-in-law: George Maloof, of Las Vegas, NV; a sister-in-law: Janice Holmes, of Dracut; also several nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Roberta Paquette and sister-in-law to the late Frank T. Holmes II, Ruth Conners and Michael Conners.

Friends may call from 4 until 8 PM on Sunday, July 11th, at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). Her Funeral Mass to be offered Monday, July 12th, at 10:30 at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell.
