Marion L. Moriarty, 91, of Worcester, died Friday, January 25th in Beaumont Nursing Center in Northborough. She is survived by several cousins, including Mary Anne Ginnerty and her husband, Robert of South Yarmouth, Martha Wicks of Harwich and Stephen Pervier and his wife, Karen of Boxborough.
She was born in Webster, the daughter of Arthur E. and Margaret M. (Ryan) Moriarty. Miss Moriarty was a graduate of Clark University and earned her Master’s Degree in Education from Boston University. She had served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. Marion had been employed by the City of Worcester School Department as a high school teacher and taught at North High School, Burncoat Senior High School and South High School. Miss Moriarty had been a long time member of St. Peter’s Parish and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Her funeral is Tuesday, January 29th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Peter’s Church, 931 Main Street. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon. Calling hours are Monday, January 28th from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
