Mrs. Phyllis J. (Packet) Macioci 79 of No. Eastham, formerly of Provincetown died Wednesday January 23, 2013 at Cape Cod Hospital following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Framk V. Macioci who died in 2002. Born in Provincetown, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Beatrice (Lema) Packet. Mrs. Macioci was a graduate of Provincetown High School class of 1951. She met her husband on Commercial Street while he was stationed at the Air Force Base in No. Truro and they were married in 1953. During the late ‘60s and early ‘70s Mrs. Macioci worked as a waitress at Rookies’ restaurant and the Bookstore Restaurant both in Wellfleet. She loved to cook and teach ceramics. She had a ceramic studio in Wellfleet. She also taught knitting. In her later years she lived with various debilitating illnesses.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and foster mother, and is survived by her daughters Lynn Homer and her husband Wayne of Attleboro, Teri Sparks and Diana Macioci of No. Eastham, Mary Beth DiLauro and her husband Jeff of Brewster and Paulette Heath of Dennis, MA, her son Donald Macioci and his wife Christine of Eastham, her 10 grandchildren, Danny, Melissa, Samantha, John, Jordan, Jillian, Charlie, Jonathan, Marcus and Brieanna and 5 great grandchildren and her beloved “baby” Lola.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Peter the Apostle Church 11 Prince St. Provincetown on Saturday January 26, 2013 at 10:00am. Visiting hours are Friday evening from 5-7PM in the Gately Funeral Home 94 Harry Kemp Way Provincetown.
