Obituary

Warren Percy Bailey, 80, of Plympton, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2013. The son of Percy and Eleanor (Balboni) Bailey was born in Plymouth, MA on January 22, 1932. He was the oldest of three children.
Warren was raised and educated in Kingston, graduating in 1950 from Kingston High School as class President and Captain of the basketball team. He excelled in mathematics and attended Brown University graduating in 1954. Upon graduation from Brown he served for two years in the Army including a tour in Germany. In 1957 he married the former Marjorie May Stevens. Warren was employed by Commercial Union Assurance Company (now One Beacon Insurance Group) for 45 years as a Safety Inspector retiring in 2001.
Warren is survived by three children, Adam Bailey and his wife Jean of Plympton, MA, Amy-jo (Bailey) Oliver of Stoneville, NC and Noel Riley of Quincy, MA; his grandchildren Megan and Joshua Bailey of Plympton, MA, Kristin (Govoni) Moore of Carver, MA, Amanda (Ellis) Whyte of Plympton, MA and Ryun Ellis of Middleboro, MA; his loving companion Florence (“Flo”) Miller of Plympton, MA; his brother Alan Bailey and his sister-in-law Carol (Kennedy) Bailey of Anderson, SC; as well as many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Percy and Eleanor, his wife Marjorie (Stevens) Bailey and his sister Marion (Bailey) Proctor.
Affectionately known as “Ace Moon Face”, Warren was an honorary member of the Upland Sportsman’s Club in Plympton, MA, serving as Club Secretary for a number of years; where he enjoyed numerous activities including participating in variety shows, being the Pit Boss for countless chicken barbeques, and competing in the annual cribbage tournament with his son. During his retirement years he loved spending time with his companion Flo, family and close friends and attending hockey and baseball games with his son and grandson.
Memorial visiting hours will be held on Sunday, January 27th from 2-5:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St (Rt. 106) Kingston. Funeral services on Monday January 28th will be private.
