Handy of Brockton July 6, 2004 Alfred L. “Al” Handy, Jr.34 years, officer Randolph Police Department. Beloved son of Alfred L. and Luella (Folder) Handy of Brockton. Loving grandson of Alfred B. and Virginia V. (Jackson) Handy of Malden.

Funeral Service in the First Baptist Church 518 N. Main St. Randolph Monday at 11 am. Burial in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.

Visiting hours in the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Sunday 2-4 & 6-8 pm. Donations in Al’s memory may be made to the Alfred L. Handy, Jr. Scholarship Fund c/o Randolph Savings Bank, Randolph, MA 02368.

Obituary Alfred L. “Al” Handy, Jr. 34 years of Brockton died Tuesday at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston after a brief illness. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland son of Alfred L. and Luella (Folder) Handy of Brockton. Al was raised and educated in Brockton and was a graduate of Brockton High School.Because of his love of music he was a member of the Brockton High School Chorus, Jazz and Marching bands and the orchestra. Al was continuing his education at Curry College in Milton.Al became a Randolph police officer on May 18, 1998. He served with distinction and merit during his six years of service in his employment with the town of Randolph. Al was a true professional, always ready to help and always ready to listen. He was not only a cruiser officer and dispatcher, he also had a unique, self taught talent with computers and he was named “Webmaster” and placed in charge of the new Randolph Police Department website that he designed and maintained.His devotion to the town of Randolph will not be forgotten. His brother and sister officers will fondly remember him and his dedication.Prior to joining the Randolph police force Al was a police office for the City of Belmont for 4 years.In addition to his parents Al is survived by his grandparents Alfred B. and Virginia V. (Jackson) Handy of Malden, many aunts , uncles and cousins.He was the grandson of the late Freddie L. and Annabelle (Jackson) FolderFuneral Service in the in First Baptist Church 518 N. Main St., Randolph Monday at 11 am with Pastor Crocker officiating. Burial in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
