Obituary

Sarah C.Collins, of Central Pike, Scituate died Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. She was the wife of the late Charles A. Collins, Sr.

Born in Killingly, Connecticut, she was a daughter of the late Martin B. and Julia D.(Gonnermann) Leidemer. She lived in Scituate since 1945.

Mrs. Collins, along with her husband, was owner and operator of Collins Burner Service and S & C Bus Service in Scituate from 1967 until her retirement in 2011. She started the Scituate School Bus Safety Program in 1975 teaching children about school bus safety until 2011.She was a member of the 4H All stars and was active in 4H in the 1950s and 1960s.

She is survived by her children, Julie Papineau of Columbia TN,and Charles A. Collins, Jr. “Chuck” Ret. SPD and his wife, Robin of Scituate; grandsons, Eddie and Alan of Scituate, Michael and his wife Diane of Culleoka, TN and Chucky of Scituate,eight great grandchildren,two great great grandchildren and a sister, Ellen Barbaro of Outerbanks, NC. She was the sister of the late Lt. Col. Henry Leidemer, Ret., Julia Lydon and Margaret Leidemer.
Her funeral will be held on Monday at 9:00 AM from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph Church, Danielson Pike, North Scituate. Burial in Phillips Memorial Cemetery, Foster. Visitation Sunday 3-6 PM. RI. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Scituate Scholarship Foundation, 94 Trimtown Road, North Scituate, RI 02857
